a brief summary about your book and the main character. Then, tell

The Plum Tree is about a girl named Christine who lives in Germany. It takes place just before World War II is about to begin. She falls in love with Isaac, who is Jewish. Christine’s family is very poor, and they actually work for Isaac’s wealthy family. Since they are from different social classes, Christine has to keep her crush a secret until one day she finds out that Isaac feels the same way about her. Just as they are beginning their relationship, World War II hits, and Isaac has to go into hiding because he is Jewish. He gets taken to a concentration camp, and Christine fears she will never see him again.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about Christine is that she isn’t perfect. She comes from a family who is poor, but she is a hard worker and very skilled. She also is a very loving and caring sister. She takes great care of her younger siblings.
What I do not like about Christine is that she makes some risky choices. For example, when she sees Isaac, enslaved by the Germans, walking through her town, she calls out to him. Then, she hides him in her attic. The Germans end up finding him and send both of them to concentration camps.
Very well written. I would love to read this book. I really wonder how the book ends!!! I hope they live throughout the concentration camps. I can imagine how scary that would be especially if they are worried about themselves and other loved ones.
DeleteI think I would like this book. I have always liked anything that has to do with war. Christine sounds like the main character of my book because he always gets into bad situations.
DeleteThis book sounds a lot like "Torn Thread" because just like Isaac and Christine the two girls get sent off to concentration camps, and the do not like it. I don't think it is right to do that to people for having different beliefs. This book sounds really good and something I might read!
DeleteI can connect how Christine is a loving sister because my sister is very loving and caring also. Another thing is how do the germans find him in her attic and is there familys get put in a concentration camps?
DeleteGarrett, the Germans were allowed to search anyone's house if they suspected the owners of treason. No, the family members were not sent to concentration camps, which I found surprising. Christine's father was sent to fight in the war, though.

ReplyDeleteMockingburd is about Caitlin, a fifth grader with aspergers syndrome. Caitlin has trouble making friends because of her syndrome, but Mrs.Brooks is her only chance. Caitlin’s best friend was Devon,her 15 year old brother, until “the day our lives fell apart”. Thats what Caitlin’s dad calls it. Caitlin started to block the world out a whole lot more than she already was before “the day our lives fell apart”. Devon didn't call his younger sister by her name, he called her scout. That one word that Caitlin is trying to find, closure. Will she ever find what shes looking for?
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about Caitlin is that she knows what her reason is for not understanding life like she should. She finds assurity in Mrs.Brooks. Caitlin is a struggler and she knows it.
What i don’t like about Caitlin is that she doesn't try to make friends like she should. I think I would like her alot more if she tried to make friends.

DeleteI can understand how she would have problems because of her disease. That's sad that she can't have friends or people choose not to be her friend because of some problems she has. This book sounds very interesting and I will have to look into reading this.

DeleteI finished the book Closed for the Season. The book was about a boy named Logan who moved into a house in a new neighborhood, and meets his neighbor, Arthur. As he’s moving into this house, and exploring the town, Arthur shares a secret about the house that the realtor didn't mention. With all stories being told, Logan finds out the past owner was murdered in the house.
ReplyDeleteNo one, not even the police, are sure who killed her. But Arthur and Logan have a suspicion on who it might have been. Mrs. Donaldson, the previous owner that had been murdered, was accused of stealing money from an ‘important’ man of the city. Arthur and Logan set off and try to clear Mrs. Donaldson’s name, and also find out who killed her, with the help of Violet, Mrs. Donaldson’s daughter.
What I like about Logan, is that he is mysterious, he loves finding out more on something once he hears about them, interesting or not. I can tell he likes having a deeper understanding on an event that happened in the past, or present, because of how bad he wants to know who murdered Mrs. Donaldson for no reason explained.
What I don’t like about Logan, is that he is too daring, he makes choices that could put Arthur and him into deep trouble with many people, even the cops. Especially, when he could have let it go.
I think that Logan is pretty interesting. I love mysterious characters because you have to think a lot about what they are going to do next and then they never do. It is almost like a mental cliff hanger.

I've read so many books with mysterious characters, then got so mad because I think, and think, about what they're probably going to do about the situation, and/or big problem that may to be fixed, and then then they don't do what they should, or what I thought they were going to! It makes me so frustrated, because I sat and thought for a while, and was wrong! :P

He was in jail a good many times for bad things, and, not to mention, he never liked Violets mom, who was Mrs. Donaldson. They were all three, pretty sure it was Silas... But read to find out (;

ReplyDeleteThe same Stuff as Stars is about a girl named Angel. She lives with her mom (Verna) and brother (Bernie) but they just randomly moved into her great grandmas old, creepy house. Verna left for two years and left the kids there with grandma until she kidnapped Bernie at school. Angel didn't have any friends so she soon became friends with grandmas son who every night showed her the stars. She called him the Star Man. When they started becoming really good friends he died and the last thing he said to Angel was “remember me when you look at the stars.”
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about Angel is she is really responsible and makes all of the adult decisions. That is really surprising to me because she is only 12 years old and doesn't have anyone to look up to because she does everything that a grown up would do already.
What I do not like About Angel is that she has anger issues and talks with really bad grammar. After a while her grammar gets really annoying and people were trying to make friends with her at school and she freaked out on them because she didn’t want to have friends. Sometimes I wonder why she wants to be so different and not like anybody else.

DeleteDeliver Us from Normal is about a boy named Charles, who has four sibilings. They live in a town called Normal but that is all they’re not. Not fitting in and their low amount of money was why they traveled to Alabama for a houseboat. It is really small and dirty, but they can’t go back now. They have not really had a real “dinner” since they got down there. They have been eating snacks like cheese and crackers instead.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like best about Charles is that I can relate with him in many ways. We are both in our fist year of the junior high and have older sibilings. Also both of us think mint chocolate chip ice cream is the best ice cream.
The thing I dislike the most about Charles is that he plays the cello. I never had an interest in choirs or band so it is hard to connect. I think that this part was unnesisary and was boring.

DeleteThe Vampire Diaries is about a girl named Elena who meets the Salvatore brothers Stefan, and Damon. She instantly Falls in love with Stefan. When she figures out they’re vampires, She finds out what other supernatural creatures exist. She ends up getting everyone she loves involved.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about Elena is, she is very loyal to her loved ones. I also like how she always tried to protect the people she cares about. She always tries to help in some way, even when she can’t do much.
What I do not like about Elena is that she can tend to be kind of selfish sometimes. she makes really stupid, rash choices even when they tell her not to. For example, when they tell her not to go confront another vampire, she goes and nearly gets herself killed.
I can picture what sort of problems Elena runs into with some vampires and nearly gets killed. She seems to be very daring, and brave. A lot like a hero, you could say! Aside from her selfish choices you say she makes. Well written!
DeleteThe book Twilight is about a highschool girl named, Bella who just moved in to the small and quiet town of Forks. She moved from Florida where she lived with her mom, she then decided to live with her dad and that is why she moved here. The first day of school she meets some cool friends, but this boy catches her eye. She asks her friend and they say that they are the Cullens they are solum and only hang out with each other, which apparently their family. Bella starts talking and hanging out with him and noticing some weird things about this boy and his family. She researches it and finds a crazy thing she never thought was real. Yet, she still wants to see him. Read more and you will discover more about what she finds out about Edward and the Cullen family.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like best about my character is that she is pretty and doesn’t give up no matter what! She is also strong, like in a part in the movie, she gets severely injured yet, she hangs in there and doesn’t give up on herself. She is also not afraid to tell people what she thinks. There are many parts in the book that show that. She also isn’t afraid to do anything that she has to to protect herself, or her loved ones. That is what I like best about my main character.
What I don’t like about Bella is that she can make bad decisions at times. Which normally gets her into trouble and I feel like right when she gets out of a trouble spot she’s right back in one cause of her dumb and useless choices. I guess that is what makes the book more interesting though. Another thing I do not like about my character is that she is mean in ways that isn’t necessary. Which kinda makes me angry because some of the things she says affects her in the long run. Last reason I do not like about my character is I don’t understand her because she wanted to move in with her dad yet she has no respect for him. Soo

DeleteThe main character is Thomas Buergenthal and the Title of the book is A Lucky Child. The book is about Thomas Buergenthal as a young boy and how he was in World War 2 and how he survived the famous Death March. The Death March was in 1947 and he was only 10 years old when this happened. While he was in the Death March he tore a ligament in his leg. The thing I like most about Thomas Buergenthal is that he survived World War 2 and that he survived the Death March. He was a strong kid when he had to go through this. He survived with a pistol and bread. The thing I do not like about him is that he didn’t stay with the Polish Army. He could’ve gone and fought but he wanted to go to an Orphanage in Otwok. In my opinion he should’ve stayed with the Polish Army.
ReplyDeleteCameron this book seems very interesting since Thomas only had bread and a pistol. The problem if Thomas joined the polish army is that he could of die because he is so young and get shot, but if he went to an orphanage they would of taken care of him and help fix his torn ligament. Anyways I would like to read this book sometime this year it seems like an adventurous book.

ReplyDeleteThe book Desmond Pucket is mainly about a boy who likes to scare people. He also plays pranks on people. But his principal finally tells Desmond I will give you three chances to make up for your mistakes. If you blow these three chances I’m expelling you. So Desmond doesn't take his first chance seriously and gets kicked out of the first club. After that he tries to do better on his second try but ends up with a bad report so he gets kicked out of the News writer club. Finally he is on his last club which is the Drama club and he is determined to make it count.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that I like best about the character is that he acts like Big Nate which is one of my favorite book series. Also he always gets in trouble and finds a way to get out. PS:The author of this book is the author of the Big Nate books.
What I like least about my character is that he always gets lucky in the end. I like that least because I wish I was LIke that. It seems like he could murder some one and get away with it.
“Graceling” is a about a woman named Kasta it is set in a fictional scene. Kasta is graced with killing. She can’t control her anger yet has honed and can control her skills. She is her uncle’s thug Katsa’s uncle punishes people for silly mistakes like chopping 3 more acres of wood that agreed on etc...He sends Kasta to deliver cruel punishment. Kasta meets a Liened prince named Po. Po sees that she doesn’t enjoy her uncle king and persuades her to stand up for herself. Then she leaves with him on a quest to find who want’s his uncle dead.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about Kasta is that she won’t take an insult or threat without taking a hard look or throwing a punch at the giver. But, she also has a very special look at the world and is soft hearted. She also is very loyal when she and Po learn “Leck the King of Monsea” is behind the kidnapping and many more unpleasant acts such as. Cutting animals for enjoyment and killing his own wife. Yet the entire time she is loyal to the promise to Po to kill Leck. Even with his Grace to change minds.
What I don’t like about Kasta is that she acts to fast, she won’t sit back and think. She just acts, which sometimes can be a good thing but otherwise... Kasta also can’t fight Leck’s powers, it’s hard for anyone but seeing the uselessness of her just makes it annoying.
My Brother is a big fat liar is about how the main character Jessica is trying to get all the proof that she possibly can to prove that her brother is a BIG FAT LIAR! Jessica is the main character in this book. She can be sweet and lady like and charming most of the time. But the rest of the day she is is nasty and and rude and is always tattling on her brother. Jessica Ralf will risk her own life just to get her brother in trouble.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like best about Jessica Ralf is she is always on top of things and never gives up. She just will not stop until she proves that her brother is a BIG FAT LIAR. She will never give up on anything like homework or a movie or getting her brother into trouble.
The thing that i do not like about Jessica is that she is always tattling on her older brother Ronald. She critazises everything that he does and every movement. She is always trying to get him into trouble.
She sounds like a brat... And seems just as bad as her brother yet still is supposed to be the good and perfect main character.

DeleteI’m reading the book “The Lovely Bones” the main character’s name is Susie Salmon. One day, just like any other Susie was walking along the corn field from school, when she saw he neighbor Mr. Harvey. Mr and Mrs Salmon are looking for her, and they call a detective to help them his name is Len Fenerman. Len walks around trying to get to information about this case, whe he gets to Mr. Harvey’s house he interviews him but doesn’t find anyrhing worth investigating. Meanwhile, the Salmons know it is Mr. Harvey but Len won’t investigate because he doesn’t think Mr. Harvey did it and he doesn’t have enough proof. While this is all going on, Susie is telling her story of it all up in Heaven and she is sharing the memories she had back on Earth.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I like best about Susie is her personality. I like her personality because she is aware of the people around her and not just herself. For example, one time her parents weren’t around and Buckley was outside and he swollowed a stick. Buckley was choking on the stick, and Susie who is only 14 took the car to the Hostpital to save him.
The thing I don’t like about Susie is the choices she makes. I don’t like the choices she has made because it got herself killed in the end. For example, when Mr. Harvey asked her to go into the den she should have known he was up to something. She should have went with her gut instinct knowing it was kind of creepy, considering she didn’t know him that well. Instead, she didn’t go with her gut and wound up getting killed.
this sounds like a really good book but it is really confusing. How did she get into heaven?

DeleteIt sounds like another book I read were the children didn't even know they were dead. But in the end they figure it out and the lady who killed them is accused. Even though she is dead... It's also just as confusing!

DeleteThe book Robin Hood is about a man named Robin he is an outlaw and sentence death after being cruelly tricked by the sheriff of Nottingham to kill a deer that was that was the kings. It’s about Robin Hood and men that stand up for people that are poor or homeless in England that have had their money taken away from the sheriff
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about Robin is that he cares about others, he has enough courge to send the sheriff that wants to kill him a letter, but that takes a lot of guts.
What I don’t like about Robin is that he would seriously send a letter to the man that wants to kill him for shooting one of the kings deer.
That is strange. He shouldn't die because he Just killed a deer. And also why would he send that letter, it must have been important.

DeleteHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is about a boy, with no real parents, named harry potter who finds out that he is a wizard. He goes to Hogwarts which is a wizarding school. after he learns how to do wizardry, he goes out to find the murderer who killed his parents, who is also a wizard, but there is a twist… and another twist… and another twist… and you get it.
ReplyDeleteI like how Harry Potter is a wizard in my book. It makes the book more interesting. I’m pretty sure even if he wasn’t a wizard, the book will be interesting, but I think it’s better that he is.
I don’t like how Harry is a trouble maker. He will sometimes go explore, and solve mysteries. if he didn’t do that, he could have had more access to more things, like not having detention.
I think it is crazy that he went to find the murderer. I also think he is good at getting in trouble it's a little out of hand. I seems like he is always in trouble.
DeleteThe main character in Catching Fire is Catniss. It takes place mainly in a newly discovered, underground district called district 13. She is strong, brave, and has been through a lot in a short amount of time. She does not give up and has a great personality in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like best about Catniss, is that she fights for her rights, and she would give up until she gets her way.
What I like the least, is she has to pretend to be someone she is not for the cameras. Also, she is risky with the Capitals laws and rules, and tends to break them.

DeleteMe and The Devil is a book about Nick’s life and how he’s just trying to recover from his addiction. The book is talking about Nick’s life and all of the ways he’s just trying to get by. Nick is just an average guy just trying to get through his life. But he always turns to booze over his family, friends, and just his life in general. He’s convinced himself that is he just drank, all of his worries and all of his problems would just disappear. Though, he’s met someone who he believes will change the way he saw life. He thought that she could change his life. This girl who Nick thinks will change his life is staying with him at his house until he finally lives up to his word and finally decide to stop drinking once and for all.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about Nick is that he doesn’t care what other people have to say about him. He does what he believes is right and nobody can change his mind once it’s made up. I like Nick because he’s very independent and he doesn’t need anyone in his life to help him or tell him what to do, he’s his own person and he embraces that. Nick said he didn’t need anyone in his life until he met the woman that could change his life.
What I didn’t like about Nick is that he always turns to booze to solve all of his problems. He doesn’t realize that there is help out there. What I don’t like about Nick is that he doesn’t realize that his family and his few friends care about him and they are there to help him through anything he’s going though. Nick doesn’t know that there are groups of people who are just like him that are just like him and are there to help him turn away from drinking. I don’t like that Nick doesn’t realize that there’s so much more to life.
‘’Thor’’ is about a guy named Thor and he lives in another Realm. His dad is the king of Asgard and Thor is second in line for the throne. He goes to a different planet and messes with the troll giants and gets banished from his home. He got sent to earth because he started a war and his father starts to die while Thor is on earth. So his brother was put in charge and Thor and him don’t get along.
ReplyDeleteThe things I like about my main character is that he is strong. He is strong because he has different super powers that we people don’t have. He can fly and he has this really big hammer that shoots lightning out of it and he can hit stuff really hard.
What I like least about my main character is how he is kind of stupid. He doesn’t know much stuff about earth. He takes a lot of risk that could get him killed but he doesn’t think about his action’s that he makes.

DeleteWarriors Sunset is about 4 clans Heading to a new home. The Main Character Focus is The senior Warrior: Brambleclaw he is a thunderclan cat and one of the best warriors Thunderclan has. The reason the 4 clans are heading to a new home is because the Twolegs (People) are destroying the territories of the 4 clans; making a new road right in the middle of each territory. The clans are finally leaving with all the permissions of the leaders and now heading over a mountain to hopefully get to their new home. On the way over the mountain all 4 clans are on a ledge and sadly a certain part of the ledge breaks and SmokePaw A ShadowClan Apprentice falls to his death. After 2 days of traveling up the mountain they get to the top and a eagle attacks. A tribe patrol came to the rescue and killed the eagle. After the eagle was killed the patrol asked if the clan cats wanted to come to their camp. Once all the cats were at the camp for about a moon (A Month) They left but a warrior in Riverclan left to stay with his mate Brooke from the tribe of rushing water. Once the clans found the place they were destined to be they started making camps….
ReplyDeleteWhat I like best about Brambleclaw is that he isn’t a cocky little warrior he cares about respect. Also He doesn’t treat others by their rank like he treats kits as warriors but he doesn’t bring them on patrols what not. Another thing is that even though he meets with TigerStar (His deceased father) He still stays loyal to thunderclan. Also even when a kit is bad he doesn't like tear his head off he scolds them but not as much it would scare the kit.
What I don't like about Brambleclaw is that he doesn't really think before he does some things. One time in a clan meeting he spoke and Ashfur did the same thing at the same time and they almost fought just because of that. Also when he was a kit he didn't leave camp when there was a fire and he almost died but Firestar saved him when he fell off a tree.
The Maze Runner is about Thomas and his friends in an experiment to work together to find a cure for a virus that is making people crazy and die. The Scorch Trials is the second book in the series and crazy things happen, like in the maze. The scorch trials is the second part in the experiment and they face some serious situations. Once, a building had an explosion and were captured by cranks, people with the virus.

What I don’t like about the main character is how Thomas has an attitude, like, he has arguements with his friends a lot.
This book sounds like an action book and seems like a really good action book!
ReplyDeleteMiss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is about a boy named Jacob and his long, hard journey to find the truth about his grandfather, Abraham Portman. After Jacob’s grandfather died tragically, he had horrible nightmares and often would not sleep. Every night his nightmares were the same. Everyone thought he was insane, and he lost all his friends very quickly. After many rough months of restless days, Jacob decided to take a trip to the island where his grandfather grew up. Grandpa Portman always told him stories about his childhood. These stories seemed unrealistic, but the photos he had seemed so real. This island could be the solution to everything, or it could ruin Jacob’s whole world.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about Jacob is that he isn’t afraid of what the world will think of him. He does unimaginable things just to find the truth. Although he was going through a lot of hard times, he was still brave.
I don’t like how Jacob doesn’t always believe in himself. When he is so close to solving everything, he gives up. In the beginning of his long journey, he let society change his opinion. I think that he let common sense get the best of him.
